I have been slacking big time on our blog! I will try to sum up June and the beginning of July as best I can without writing a journal :)
Parker has been going to Grace (day school) on Wednesdays and Fridays this summer. On one of the days Rylee and I had some "girl time" I took her to lunch and then to the mall with Nonnie aka Lisa. We were walking past a store that did ear piercing and I half jokingly asked Rylee if she wanted to get her ears pierced. When she said yes I was shocked and wanted to jump at the chance at getting it done. She seemed a little hesitant once we walked into the store but when Nonnie offered to get hers done first it helped her confidence about it. They said they were going to do one ear at a time and I was thinking "oh gosh, I am going to have to hold her down for the second ear". I was wrong though! She did amazing. The girl doing the piercing was so fast and Rylee didn't cry or even flinch. She got to sit and my lap and squeeze my hands but once it was over she was perfectly fine. She got to pick her earrings and they are little pink studs of course. So pretty! :)
Rylee was due for a dental cleaning this summer. I had to prep her for weeks because our last experience was pretty traumatizing. I assured her that this time was ONLY a cleaning and it would not hurt. She did great and the hygienist said she scored a 100 on her brushing. I couldn't be happier about this!!! They mentioned her cross bite again and the appliance they want to put in the roof of her mouth. I just looked at them like "uh no". I told them that I was not going to consider doing anything like that until she is at least 7. She is SOOO not mature enough for something like that. I already traumatized her with the fillings she had to get last year. Lets have a few good experiences first before we put a dang mouth piece in that you have to turn with a key. Poor thing. She will probably have to have braces too like her mommy and daddy.
The kids have been swimming a lot already this year. They both have major tan lines and it is so cute to me. Actually JP's tan isn't very cute because of his eczema. The eczema spots don't tan so he sort of looks polka dotted! Rylee is doing so good swimming underwater and JP has no fear. He will just jump right in which is why he never is near the pool without his floaty suit on.
Parker has been obsessed with his baseball cap lately. Literally he is sleeping in it. When I take him to bed he won't lay down until we bring him his hat. He just stands up saying "mom, I want hat" over and over. It is pretty funny and he looks so super cute with it on. I guess I don't really mind but I just need him to let me wash it! He is such a big boy now. He identifies everyone by name now and is even trying to sit on the potty. Nothing has actually happened on the potty but he is definitely showing interest way earlier than Rylee ever did. Oh and he started to saying "I love you" this past week. It melts my heart and I want to hear it all day long :) :) :) I can't believe how good he is talking.
We had a fun 4th of July weekend. My mom aka Granna watched the kids Friday-Sunday and we had some "adult time". We had so much fun hanging out with some of our best friends. For the actual 4th of July we had fun swimming with the kids and even got to watch some fireworks on the lake. They didn't start until 9:30 but we let JP stay up so he could see. As he was sitting on Adam's lap he feel asleep with the loud fireworks going off in the sky. I guess he must have been PRETTY tired to sleep through all that excitement :)
Rylee has already gone to vacation bible school twice this summer. She loves it. They get to do crafts, sing songs and learn bible stories. I might even send her to a 3rd one in August. I have so many fun memories of VBS and I hope she will too.
Ok well that is all I can think of so far. We will go to Comfort to visit Nanny and Poppy in August and also looking forward to Parker's 2nd birthday party. I can not believe he is going to be TWO next month!!!!!! My baby is growing up too fast and it makes me sad :(
We are a family of 5... Mom, Dad, Rylee Grace, John Parker and our newest addition Luca the dog. Our kids are the most amazing people and I look forward to sharing our stories with our friends and family.

Summer so far
What a busy start to the summer so far. Parker has started his new school 2 days a week and adjusting well. I don't think it is as good as Methodist but I still feel really comfortable with him there. I love that the hours are more flexible so if I need to drop him early or pick him up late I can with no extra charge. Also I don't have to pack a lunch or back pack. I do have to bring his blanket and bear every time though. He has become SUPER attached to them and calls them both "bankie". If we don't have it he pitches a screaming fit. He seems to have fun and is even napping on a nap matt! Parker is talking up a storm basically repeating almost everything we say. He says "one, two, three". A few times he has come up to me and told me he has "pooh pooh". Not that I think he is ready to potty train just yet but it is a step in the right direction. OH and Parker is strangely obsessed with shoes lately. He will go into his closet and grab a pair then walk up to me with them saying "shooooes". He cries when I take them off! Too funny.
A few weeks ago Adam and I celebrated our SEVEN year anniversary. I can not believe it has been that long already. So much has happened since we said our vows :) I admit things aren't exactly as easy as they were in those first few years but we have made it through 3 houses, two kids and a new company and are stronger than we have ever been. We have been very fortunate and I am so grateful for what we have and where we are. Thank you Adam for wanting me to be your wife and putting up with me every day :) I love you.
A few days after our anniversary we left for our vacation to Mexico with The Rentfro's. This was a very big deal as we have never been away from the kids for more than 3 nights and this time it was 5. We have not been anywhere that long since before I was pregnant with Rylee. When we checked into our hotel we were surprised to find out our other bff's The Knott's had been sneaky and booked the same trip months before! I can't believe they hid it from us for so long but what an awesome surprise. One of the days we all went fishing and Adam caught a 5ft 9inch BULL SHARK! He started reeling something in and the boat captain said "that is a shark". We didn't believe it until we saw it on the line. After a LOT of work he had the shark close enough for them to grab it with a big hook and pull it in the boat. We were all screaming and cheering. It was crazy! We had sooooo much fun and it was so beautiful but were happy to get home and see our babies.
Miss Rylee has had fun hanging out with just Mom on the days JP is at school. She calls it "girl time". We have gotten our toes done, made a build a bear, went to the La Torretta water park and the library. One HUGE thing that has happened is Rylee finally learned how to swim! She has been very resistant up until this point and I mean VERY resistant. I wasn't sure about putting her in lessons because we have done that in the past and it doesn't help. She knew what to do but was scared. My friend Shelly asked if she could try instead of lessons so I dropped her off 2 days in a row to see what she could do. Low and behold I showed up on the second day and she was swimming with her head under water. From what I understand it was not easy but after a lot of arguing and tears she gave in. I had to pick up jaw up off the floor when I saw her swimming across the pool. She still has a lot of work to do but at least I feel like if she fell in the pool she could make it to the side safely. We will continue to work with her this summer but frankly I want to drop her off at Shelly's again since Rylee seems to do better when I am not there.
This past weekend was Rylee's 2nd dance recital. Her tap dance was to The Adams Family and ballet to Bewitched. The theme for the recital was TV shows. She did absolutely amazing. It is funny because normally she is so shy but you put a little make up on her and she works it! It is like the more people who are watching the more she gets into it. My jaw hurt from smiling so hard. I was a very proud mama!!!
