Summer so far

What a busy start to the summer so far.  Parker has started his new school 2 days a week and adjusting well.  I don't think it is as good as Methodist but I still feel really comfortable with him there. I love that the hours are more flexible so if I need to drop him early or pick him up late I can with no extra charge. Also I don't have to pack a lunch or back pack. I do have to bring his blanket and bear every time though.  He has become SUPER attached to them and calls them both "bankie".  If we don't have it he pitches a screaming fit.  He seems to have fun and is even napping on a nap matt!  Parker is talking up a storm basically repeating almost everything we say.  He says "one, two, three".  A few times he has come up to me and told me he has "pooh pooh".  Not that I think he is ready to potty train just yet but it is a step in the right direction.  OH and Parker is strangely obsessed with shoes lately.  He will go into his closet and grab a pair then walk up to me with them saying "shooooes".  He cries when I take them off! Too funny.

A few weeks ago Adam and I celebrated our SEVEN year anniversary.  I can not believe it has been that long already.  So much has happened since we said our vows :)   I admit things aren't exactly as easy as they were in those first few years but we have made it through 3 houses, two kids and a new company and are stronger than we have ever been. We have been very fortunate and I am so grateful for what we have and where we are.  Thank you Adam for wanting me to be your wife and putting up with me every day :)  I love you.

A few days after our anniversary we left for our vacation to Mexico with The Rentfro's.  This was a very big deal as we have never been away from the kids for more than 3 nights and this time it was 5.  We have not been anywhere that long since before I was pregnant with Rylee.  When we checked into our hotel we were surprised to find out our other bff's The Knott's had been sneaky and booked the same trip months before!  I can't believe they hid it from us for so long but what an awesome surprise. One of the days we all went fishing and Adam caught a 5ft 9inch BULL SHARK!  He started reeling something in and the boat captain said "that is a shark".  We didn't believe it until we saw it on the line. After a LOT of work he had the shark close enough for them to grab it with a big hook and pull it in the boat. We were all screaming and cheering.  It was crazy!  We had sooooo much fun and it was so beautiful but were happy to get home and see our babies.

Miss Rylee has had fun hanging out with just Mom on the days JP is at school.  She calls it "girl time".  We have gotten our toes done, made a build a bear, went to the La Torretta water park and the library. One HUGE thing that has happened is Rylee finally learned how to swim!  She has been very resistant up until this point and I mean VERY resistant.  I wasn't sure about putting her in lessons because we have done that in the past and it doesn't help.  She knew what to do but was scared.  My friend Shelly asked if she could try instead of lessons so I dropped her off 2 days in a row to see what she could do.  Low and behold I showed up on the second day and she was swimming with her head under water.  From what I understand it was not easy but after a lot of arguing and tears she gave in. I had to pick up jaw up off the floor when I saw her swimming across the pool.  She still has a lot of work to do but at least I feel like if she fell in the pool she could make it to the side safely.  We will continue to work with her this summer but frankly I want to drop her off at Shelly's again since Rylee seems to do better when I am not there.

This past weekend was Rylee's 2nd dance recital.  Her tap dance was to The Adams Family and ballet to Bewitched.  The theme for the recital was TV shows. She did absolutely amazing.  It is funny because normally she is so shy but you put a little make up on her and she works it!  It is like the more people who are watching the more she gets into it.  My jaw hurt from smiling so hard.  I was a very proud mama!!!
