12 month check up, 1st day of school, dance and Labor Day

Rylee and Parker started Mother's Day Out last week. I can't believe Rylee is in Pre-K now!!! She is such a big girl. I wish she would stop growing up SO fast. I was worried about the fact that she is only doing Pre-K 2 days a week and if she would get enough out of it to be ready for Kindergarten next year. Her teacher assured me that she would be and they do testing at the end of the year just to make sure they are on track and ready for Elementary School. EEK. Even typing that freaks me out ;) Anyway she was so excited to go and is having a great time so far!!
Parker, on the other hand doesn't seem quite as into it. He had a rough first day and didn't nap AT ALL. Usually he has 2 naps...one around 10am and another around 3pm. I picked him up at 2:30 and he had not napped. I walked into the building and could hear him crying through the closed door of his classroom. Poor guy. The second day he cried when I dropped him off but at least took an hour nap at noon. Hopefully it will get better as he gets used to it. He has never been left in any sort of setting like that other than maybe an hour at the kids club at my gym. I am thinking being in school will be a good way to transition him from 2 naps to only 1 a day. We shall see. I also feel horrible that I still give him a bottle. Some of the other kids in his class are on only sippy cups but it is his vice. He won't take a paci and the bottle is the only thing that soothes him. I feel like I have allowed this to happen but he loves it so much I just can't imagine trying to take it away from him right now. His doctor told us he needs to be off by his 15 month check up or we can almost guarantee orthodontics in his future. :( Speaking of doctors JP had his 12 month check up. He had to get FOUR vaccines (Prevnar, Hep A, Varicella and MMR) and a prick in the finger and a little vile of blood had to be squeezed out to test for anemia. It was absolutely horrible! He was screaming so bad. It had both Rylee and myself in tears by the end of it. I don't understand why they do that all in one appointment. He is right on track with his stats. Weighs 23lbs (75th%), Height is 30in (75th%), and head is 19in (90th%).
Parker is now walking more than crawling...he almost runs sometimes!  Hard to believe that this time last year he was a newborn.  I walked in the bedroom today because I heard JP crying and I couldn't help but crack up laughing because he was wearing nothing but a diaper and a pink tutu.  I guess Rylee thought it would be fun to dress him up and was even attempting to put on a glass slipper.  ha ha I am sure it won't be the first time that will happen.  Too bad I didn't get a pic in time.
Rylee has been watching more of Nick Jr and the Disney Channel these days. I used to just record a lot of toddler educational shows that don't have "real" commercials.  WELL let me just tell you that this girl wants every single thing she sees on a commercial now.  No matter what it is...toys, food, cds, she says "MOM, MOM come here and look, I want ...."   OH it is driving me crazy.  I told her she isn't getting anything until Christmas and if she wants something she has to ask Santa NOT me ;)
Here are some pics!!!

Rylee used to do this same thing!!!
