Well the school year is over for my kids at the Methodist Day School. It is hard to believe that Parker was barely walking when we started out in September. He was not talking at all and now he is Mr. Chatter Box. Parker will go to a different school this summer on Wednesdays and Fridays and then pick back up at Methodist in the Fall. My little boy is almost 2!!! WHY does it go by so fast???? It is crazy to think that Rylee was at Methodist for 4 years! Even more crazy to think that in 3 months she will be in Kindergarten. Rylee's teacher sent home a cute little book with pictures and drawings from the whole year. It is amazing how much Rylee's handwriting has improved! She is now writing her first and last name perfectly on a straight line. She is adding, learning to read, drawing amazing pictures of people, animals, houses, ect. I am so impressed by her conversations and questions and how much of a big girl she is now. Her Pre-K graduation was so bitter sweet. Her class sang a few songs and she did fantastic! When she walked up to get her diploma I definitely teared up. Now that she is on summer break I have to be sure to work on her flash cards and keep her sharp for the big K.
I had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend. On Saturday Adam, Ursula and I ran a 10K downtown. We have been training for this for a few months and to be honest I never thought I would be able to actually run 6.2 miles BUT I did. Adam & Ursula ran in under an hour and I made it in 61 minutes. Definitely an accomplishment! After that Ursula and I went out for brunch and then we lounged by the pool. That night we went to eat at the original Ninfas. Side note... I ran into a high school friend of mine that was on drill team with me (Aimee), and her husband at the run that morning. They ended up meeting us for dinner as well. It was so nice seeing an old friend :) What a perfect day. The next day (Mothers Day) Adam and I went over to my mom's who had watched the kids for us the previous 2 nights. Thanks again mom!!! We swam and Wade made some burgers. It was very relaxing and just what I wanted for Mothers Day.
This past weekend I went downtown for a girls weekend (yes 2 weekends in a row downtown) and had a blast. Thanks Lisa and Jeanna for an awesome time. Thank you even more to my sweet husband who watched the kids for me! He was nothing short of SUPER DAD. :)
