Spring Time!

I am so happy Spring is finally here!  Our days are so much longer now and the temperature is perfect.  I am already dreading how quickly this nice weather will pass though.  I have lived in the general Houston area most of my life and one thing is certain, these nice 85 degree days will not last long!  I want to soak them up while they last!

We had a pretty low key Spring Break.  Not really doing much until the end of  the week when we went to visit the Rentfro's new house in the Dallas area.  It is such a neat area (Highland Village), and their house is beautiful! The kids had so much fun going to the park and swimming in the hot tub.  Parker is so funny because he ALWAYS talks about Cole and Reid.  He asks where they are and what they are doing and if we are going to see them.  This literally happens 3 to 4 times a week. I think he really enjoys being around little boys for a change.  He followed them around like a puppy all weekend.  It was nice because he is finally old enough to keep up.  One day Ursula and I took Rylee to The American Girl Doll Store at the Dallas Galleria.  She was so excited!  The store is absolutely insane.  It is 2 stories and they have a hair salon and a restaurant.  Sweet aunt Ursula waited in line for about 45 min for what I thought would be to get Rylee's doll Ashely's hair done.  Come to find out the line was just to pay and make an appointment to come back!  GEEZ.  It was okay though because we just took the opportunity to walk around the Galleria.  Rylee was so mesmerized by the fact that it had 4 stories and an ice rink in the middle.  I didn't even think about the fact that she has never been to anything like that before.  Anyway we had a great trip.  I miss our BFF's so much and I cannot wait to go back!

We stopped at the Fort Worth Stock Yards on the way home.

The following weekend we had a crawfish boil at our house.  Wade cooked of course!  The Smith side of the family has been having these annual crawfish boils as long as I can remember. I always think they are so much fun and YUMMY too!

Rylee has had a lot of games this month however we have missed a few here and there.  She was conveniently sick for 2 of them ;)   She told me yesterday she wanted to "sign out".  I thought that was pretty funny.  I will make her finish the season of course because that is our rule with anything that gets started but if she chooses to not play in the Fall then that will be up to her.

Easter weekend we went to Woodville where John and Lisa have over 100 acres.  They put a big red barn up with 3 bedrooms, bunks, and bathrooms.  MY kind of camping!!!  The kids had such a blast.  I think Parker more so than Rylee considering she spent a good 3 hours of Saturday either in the room or in the truck watching a movie after a horse fly landed on her chest :)   They bought a big stand up pool so that saved us when the kids got hot and tired.   Parker was obsessed with Pop Pop's tractor.  I am not kidding when I say he wanted to ride it every 30 minutes!  Of course Pop Pop did not resist and took him as often as he wanted to go.  We  even took a few Mule rides down the trails all over the property.  We dyed Easter eggs Friday and actually hunted them Saturday since we were headed home early Sunday.  We finished off Easter afternoon at home with my Mom and Wade.  They were nice enough to bring BBQ and strawberry pie!  It was a perfect Easter weekend.
