Our fire place is her "stage". She can do this for hours! :)
We are a family of 5... Mom, Dad, Rylee Grace, John Parker and our newest addition Luca the dog. Our kids are the most amazing people and I look forward to sharing our stories with our friends and family.

Busy start to the summer!
It has been go go go this summer. This is going to be SO long so please forgive me. I am going to post a bunch of pics in the best order I can ;)

Rylee had her recital a few weeks ago. The dress rehearsal was that Friday night from 4pm until 10pm! It was a long night to say the least. The most stressful part of the whole thing was trying to get Rylee ready 2 nights in a row. We had to do full make up (mascara +4 year old = impossible), bun with a ton of hair spray and a ton of bobby pins. I tried to play it up weeks before "you get to wear make up like mommy and we get to dress up like a princess". I let her listen to her Miley Cyrus cd while we got ready. She actually did a really good job and asked Adam and I several times to look at how pretty she was. I signed up to be a line mom which basically means for each of Rylee's dances I had to sit in the hall backstage with 20 4 year olds and keep them quiet, from messing with their hair and make up and hardest of all...each other! I was shocked at how many of these little girls were hitting, pinching and poking each other. The all did really well for the rehearsal but by the last dance they were all starting to melt. One would tear up and then the next one and then another one. I wish their dances would have been closer to the beginning of the show considering they are 4 and most of their bedtimes were an hour before they had to do their second number. I was able to video the rehearsal and Rylee did fantastic. During the other routines I have video of her and her friends dancing in the isles in complete admiration of the older girls. It was SO cute and brought back so many memories for me and all my recitals and rehearsals ;) The only meltdown she had was when they called her name for a perfect attendance award. She froze and started bawling at the thought of leaving her seat and walking up on the stage. So strange since she was such a ham on stage doing her dances. Note to self for next year... waterproof mascara!!! The recital night went off without a hitch. MUCH quicker than the rehearsal. There is no way for me to describe the feeling I had sitting there watching her on stage. I had the biggest smile on my face that I have probably ever had in my life. Pure joy. So proud. I think it is so cool that she loves doing something that was such a huge part of my childhood. She is already asking when dance starts again next year.

Rylee's new thing is chewing gum. She finally figured out how to chew it and wants it all the time. Of course I don't let her all the time but it is an easy treat for her when she does something good. She looks like such a big girl. She is also unfortunately using the word "like" lately. I can ONLY imagine who she picked that up from ;) I have created a mini me. "Are we like going to go to swim lessons"? OH LORD. Speaking of swim lessons we started them yesterday. She did "ok" but is already saying she doesn't want to go today. I told her if she wants to swim AT ALL this summer she has to take swim lessons. We shall see. At the same time she has it in her head that she wants to be on swim team like her buddy Hannah. I say "UM you have to learn to swim first dear".

Parker is finally crawling up on his knees now. He is pulling up on anything and holding on only with one hand. He also now has EIGHT teeth. Crazy. I have friends with babies his age that are just now getting two. Four on top and four on bottom...he has the best smile :)
We went to Galveston last Wednesday - Sunday with The Rentfro's & The Knott's. We had 6 children under the age of 5!!! ;) It was pretty chaotic at times but very fun! We love spending them with them and all of our kids get along great. They all were in bed everynight by 8:30 so we at least got a little adult time. The house we stayed at was perfect for our group and very kid friendly. It is so nice to have a group of friends that we like to vacation with! Already looking forward to our next trip.
